This one was a commission for Bengwin. Given the brief of ‘non-cash payments’, he paid for my ticket to the Home Futures exhibition at the Design Museum - it was weird and wonderful and quirky and a bit cool. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The name comes from Matt Berry’s wonderful ‘Toast’ - if you haven’t watched it, you’re missing out on some of the best monikers in recent times.

This was the first commission piece I did, and it was only because Ben asked. Still figuring out my specifics on the process, but I’m getting there - so far I’ve settled on non-cash payments (as in a gift or a thing, I don’t mean a bank transfer), and to send me a ‘trigger’ to help me start painting. Don’t quite know how that works given none of my paintings look like anything specific, maybe it’s more a mood?

I asked Ben for 3 trigger words - he actually sent me a song (Alt J - Dissolve me), which just goes to show that the best results always come from walking along a two way street.
