This one was painted for another close friend, Paddy. I don’t think it’s to his usual taste, he’s more of a classical enthusiast, though he does love a bit of Klimt. It was kind of him to ask me to paint it though.

I guess the colour scheme comes from him growing up by the coast, you can see that the different washes of blue give it a slightly nautical feel.

If anyone’s ever watched The Mighty Boosh, there were two characters called Jahooli and Kalooni that were referenced in the Hitcher episode. Great TV, one of my fave 30 minute segments of content in the world. But, very much like my painting, it won’t be to everyone’s tastes. Anyway, Paddy and I both love the show, and have called each other by these nicknames for years. To me, he’s Kalooni, so the name felt right.
