This story is genuinely good.

I used to work for KPMG, and their HQ in the UK is a 14 story skyscraper in Canary Wharf. The walls are decorated with ths usual for corporate skyscrapers - some modern art where the subject is “open to interpretation”. Or, to be more blunt, a lot of people say it doesn't look like anything.

I made a joke one day to Sach that my painting would in quite well in that kind of wheelhouse, to which he jokingly replied “why don't you just hang it up?”

So I did.

I went in one bank holiday Monday when the office was empty, went up to the 11th floor, found an empty wall space where it looked like there should be a painting, stuck on a non-marking wall hook, and hung it up.

I thought it was a bit of fun, but fully expected it to be taken down the next day. But it wasn't.

Last I heard it was still there.

Sach named it - APA, or “audacious pastel abstractions”, but mostly after the wrestling duo from the 90s.
